Robots of all shapes and sizes were on unveiled at a robot exhibition which stared in Tokyo. In light of a prolonged recession in Japan, the event's main feature was robots used in the manufacturing sector and created to reduce labour costs.

Robots for the service sector were also a highlight in the exhibition, showcasing a range of robots with the future potential for assisting humans in the health care, sanitation, security sectors as well as in disaster response.
